battlemind2 There’s a battle taking place: a battle between those things on the outside of us, reality perceived by the five senses, versus those things on the inside, truth from the Spirit of God. Will your reality be defined from the outside in or the inside out? Are you going to be reactive to life, pushed from the outside? If so, you will be angry and bitter and blame people for jerking you around on the outside and making you feel inferior on the inside.

When you feel inferior on the inside, you lose power on the outside. We want to have power on the inside so we can change the outside. We want to push the inside out. That’s the Vertical Leap. “As [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Prov. 23:7, kjv).

You are going to do unto others what you want them to do to you. But you’re going to do it first. God so loved the world that He gave first (John 3:16). He was proactive.

Jesus didn’t wait for conditions on the outside to affect Him on the inside. He already had an agenda on the inside because He only did what His Father showed Him to do John 8:28–29. He heard in His heart, and it became truth and reality.

Jesus (The Word unto perception—reality) is the truth. (See John 1.) So if the reality you perceive on the outside is in opposition to God’s Word in your heart, it’s a lie.

Logic rebels against faith. Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead. That’s not logical, but He did it. He had the habit obattlemind3
f trusting His Father. Jesus was habitually addicted to obeying God’s Word.

You can’t serve both logic and God’s Word. When the multitude needed feeding, Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes. That was not logical. Jesus walked on water. He defied the law of physics. Peter walked on water, too, until he got logical and looked at the waves. Then he sank.

Voodoo puts a word curse on people. If you embrace the words to be true, the mind will support it, and you will receive the curse based on your level of belief in its evil power.

If we embrace God’s Word as true, we will have abundant life based on our level of faith (Matt. 9:29).
